Tree Fresno plants trees where they matter most, in neighborhoods, schools, parks, along streets and roadways, and in partnership with cities, businesses, nonprofits, and community members throughout the Central San Joaquin Valley.

The mission of Tree Fresno is to transform the San Joaquin Valley with trees, greenways, and beautiful landscapes.
We believe trees do more than beautify a place. They bring shade, cleaner air, community pride, healthier neighborhoods, and a stronger connection to the land we share.

Founded by
Everyday People
Tree Fresno began in 1985, when its co-founders organized a successful telethon to raise money to plant trees in celebration of the City of Fresno’s Centennial.
The community responded in a big way. That early effort grew into a lasting movement to plant and care for trees throughout Fresno and the Central San Joaquin Valley.
In 1987, Tree Fresno became a nonprofit corporation. Today, that same community spirit continues to guide the work: planting trees, caring for landscapes, inspiring stewardship, and helping create a greener future for the Valley.
